Castle In The Sky by Lucia Chocholackova

Castle In The Sky by Lucia Chocholackova

“If you have built castles in the sky, Let not your dreams go to waste; Just build the foundations under them.” Henry David Thoreau

I sometimes get really tired of being a grown up.  I have always had a vivid imagination but as a grown up I have learned to logic and doubt my way out of almost all of my wildest fantasies.  And I really miss those fantasies, dammit.

So I have decided to stop being such a kill joy to my own imagination.  To that end I have given myself a project this year.  I love to journal and normally I write about things I am grateful for, or about esoteric spiritual ideals and guidance.  But for now I have decided that I am going to free myself from any and all limitations.  I will begin each day by writing about the day I could be living if there were no limitations.

If I had all of the money, time, freedom and permission to live the life of my wildest dreams, where would I be today, and what would I do?  No limits is the only rule.  I write a page or two first thing in the morning.  I don’t have to share it with anyone, unless I really want to.  And you know what?  It is so much fun!  Yesterday I got a book contract and a movie deal!  The day before that I went swimming with the dolphins in Maalaea Bay, Maui.  Tomorrow I am planning a moonlight hike up the ruins at Machu Picchu, and I am pretty sure I will see a few UFOs circling in the sky above.

This little exercise is turning out to be the very best 15 minutes of my day.

Dr. Wayne Dyer talks about the power of imagination to create the life you want in his book Wishes Fulfilled.  He says “keep in mind this basic axiom – if all that now exists was once imagined, then what you want to exist for you in the future must now be imagined.”  So this is my intention:  I will untether my dreams and let them be as wild and fantastic as they can be.  I will allow myself the freedom to imagine a life for myself beyond the ordinary.  I will allow my imagination, in all of its beauty, to guide me to a most extraordinary life.

As a (reluctant) grown up I do understand that not every dream will come true.  But as a dreamer, I plan to at least give the universe a plethora of imaginings to choose from.  I may be creating a whole new reality for myself or I may simply be building castles in the sky.  Either way you look at it, castles in the sky are sure to improve the view, don’t you think?

And a final thought from another favorite Dr. of mine:

“Think left and think right and think low and think high.  Oh, the thinks you can think up if only you try.”  Dr. Seuss

  1. Given where we are finding we are at in our daily sessions of ousting the dark and bringing forth the light based Oneness timeline for humanity, you will soon be able to DO all these things and more my dear, so you are right on time!!!

I went to a local gallery that had original Dr. Seuss art work and I plan to buy one of the lithographs and it is the one based on the quote of “you will move mountains my boy and more”…or something like that, and it is a picture of a boy with a weird contraption, moving the top of a mountain.

Here’s to an exciting new year!

    • Great Dr. Seuss quote! I would love to see the lithograph 🙂 And yes, I believe that you are right. We will all soon be able to do (and be) so much more than we ever dreamed possible. Thanks Katelon ❤ Dream big!

      • Oh believe me, I do!!! I’m ready to be part of my transformation centers built all over the world, with ET’s on staff and visiting and teaching there; I’m ready to fully heal and rejuvenate and then take that ability and information around the world to assist others to do the same; I’m ready to channel amazing and enjoyable pieces of music to entertain and heal; I’m ready to travel to other planets and universes; I’m ready to travel this one more fully.

If you go to http://www.legendsgallerylajolla.com and you can probably find that picture.

  2. How could I not read a post where the opening line is “sometimes I get really tired of being a grown up :)” – I am sure we all do, not sure who said youth is wasted on the young, not sure he or she was right, but I do know that once you are in the vise of daily routine it’s hard to let your fantasy roam free. Love your idea, thanks for sharing some of your vivid imaginings, what a wonderful way to start a day. I might just join you in this activity – quietly and all by myself of course!

      • Absolutely – and still young on the inside 🙂 I used to write cheering poems to my teams at work when it was really depressing and they were all stressed, but some of them thought it wasnt serious enough – some of them however loved them. PS takes me 3 minutes to write a cheering poem 🙂

      • See – you would have enjoyed them then! Maybe I should develop a side job – cheering poems for your day job at the push of a button – :)!have a lovely weekend Brenda!

  3. This project sounds like fun. Most diaries are about the mundane in our lives and discussing problems in our lives. This sounds exciting … It is actually a brilliant idea. If I was still teaching, I would have given it as a writing assignment. Keep inspiring us.

  5. What a great post!!! Love that idea of giving yourself 15 minutes a day to create without restrictions! I too am a reluctant “grown-up”…never have liked restrictions and living up to others ideals. I am trying to unteach myself what I was taught as a child that does not align with my greater good. It is definitely fun, although sometimes frustrating process. Thanks for your post😊

Keeping a diary of how you would like your day to have been, no limits other than the limits of our own imagination, just how cool is that?
I may start a day planner showing where I would really like to be, and who I would like to be there with….

    • Yes we should! I will put on my hooded sweatshirt and eat Nutella from the jar and watch a season of Vampire Diaries and let somebody else go to work in my stead tomorrow. 😉 Thanks, Emma!

  7. So, does this mean my secrets out? Lol. That’s all right, I always welcome the company anyway. I guess one of the benefits of starting to live on my own at the age of 10 or 11 was that no one ever told me I had to grow up. I really don’t know how old I was when I realized that people in general stopped fantasizing after a certain age. I never really thought of it as anything strange, just a way to come up with ideas for writing, and an exercise to keep the mind and imagination sharp. I still have some suspicion that pretty much everything we imagine in our minds, at one level or another, most likely in some manner that I could never explain, becomes a reality of some sort. But, that’s just me.

    • That must have been a challenging adventure, being on your own so young. Glad you seem to have turned out just fine.

In the past few years I have notice many, many ways in which my own thoughts have turned into reality. I think for me the biggest challenge has been to let go of the “hows” and just trust the best possible outcome to show up. And keeping those thoughts uplifting and positive… some days a bit more challenging than others 😉 It is a process.

  8. Gorgeous! Yes, i’m with you, who says we have to grow up?;) today i had a slice of heaven right here on earth- surfing lovely mellow waves at sunset in Mexico, and keeping my mind occupied by pondering a new, more free-form and liquid definition of “fate” for an interview on astrology… Riding the cosmic waves:) and, yes, playful imagination without attachment to any outcome is soooo powerful!

  9. I’m happy for you to build your castles in my world. I’ve been given Governance of this world as a Benevolent Despot and have just finished ensuring an end to all wars and promoted tolerance between all races. Now we just have to water the desert……….
